As an engineering graduate, Andrew spent the first part of his career involved in the design and manufacture of bespoke components, latterly managing a team of 30 machinists. Andrew completed his MBA whilst working in engineering and in 2001 made a career switch into the creative sector, bringing together his managerial, business and production experience heading up an agency in Yorkshire. Under Andrew’s leadership the agency began developing bespoke websites, driving traffic and business via ecommerce and digital marketing, as well as establishing a standalone ecommerce business that sold healthcare products.
In 2006 Andrew established an ecommerce business selling toys and games (he sold the business in 2014), and in 2007 he founded Ascensor to provide bespoke ecommerce and retail solutions to businesses across other sectors. In 2014 Andrew founded Smarter Retail, another ecommerce business selling personalised gifts. Andrew has supported many businesses in establishing their online activities and building conversion and has years of first-hand experience in ecommerce. Andrew’s expertise lies in the understanding of how to attract relevant online traffic to a business (marketing), converting it into enquiries (website) and building loyalty (marketing), these are the key goals of any online activity.
